Five Christmas Tips To Celebrate Christmas Like The Shepherds Did by Stephen & Janet Bly
Here’s Christmas tips taken from Luke 2:8-20 . . .
Christmas Tips #1: Get busy. Do your job. Like the shepherds guarding their flocks in their field , complete the next thing appointed to get done. God may surprise you with a divine encounter in the midst of ordinary duties.”Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night.”
Christmas Tips #2: Listen. Take a moment to stand in God’s presence. Allow Him to reveal spiritual truth by whatever means. Through an angel? A choir? An army? A still, small voice? “Suddenly an angel appeared among them, and the landscape shone bright with the glory of the Lord. They were badly frightened, but the angel reassured them” (vs. 9, TLB) “Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others–the armies of heaven–praising God” (vs. 13, TLB)
Christmas Tips #3: Obey. If there’s instructions or a command, follow through. The shepherds left their sheep and hurried to find the baby, the Savior, the Messiah, the Lord.
Christmas Tips #4: Tell it. Let everyone possible know what you witness God do, what your eyes of faith see of His glory. “All who heard the shepherds’ story expressed astonishment, but Mary quietly treasured these things in her heart and often thought about them” (vs. 18,19, TLB)
Christmas Tips #5: Return. Get back to your life, your job, with your new perspective. The shepherds went back again to their fields and flocks, praising God.
