As part of her mill town mystery in Winchester, Idaho, Crystal and her friends discover a locked safe in a burned-out lumber mill. The contents draw others’ interest too. The lumber company offers Crystal a huge reward for the safe no one can open. Crystal and Shawn determine to discover what’s inside. Now, if only they can figure out the combination and how to spin the dial. Meanwhile, all this tension makes it hard for Crystal to concentrate on the upcoming rodeo at Pendleton, her biggest rodeo yet. She’s got to somehow do her part for the rodeo team!
Crystal crawled under the propped-up wall toward the safe. The space was much tighter than she imagined. There didn’t seem to be any place she could get a good angle to pry the safe door. Then, it dawned on her. The wall began sinking back down!
She hurried to get out and heard the wall shift, brushing against her back as she pulled her head and shoulders free. Then the weight of the wall pushed her legs into the mud.
She tried to shove with her arms, but she was stuck tight.
Crystal panicked.
